Loft rafters

Pitched roofs

Roof spaces and loft floors
Foil over joists under storage boarding where a thin layer is needed. On an open loft floor we will usually recommend mineral wool instead. Foil for lofts.

Systems we install
We specify certified multifoil quilts fitted to the manufacturer's certified build-up, combined with PIR board where the target U-value requires it. Product brands are named in every specification and quote; we do not list manufacturers here that a specific project may not use, and we hold no manufacturer approval unless it is stated in writing on your quote. What a quote includes and excludes
- Included: survey report, specification with certificate reference and target U-value, materials, counter-battens, tapes and fixings, labour, waste removal, handover photographs and documentation, building control notification where the work requires it.
- Excluded unless quoted: roof repairs, plasterboard and decoration, moving electrics or plumbing, spray foam removal, scaffolding, structural work.
Installer credentials
Every installer working through InsulationMatch has agreed to our installation standard. Before any installer is added we verify public liability insurance, and we record any competent person scheme membership and manufacturer training with the certificate number. Credentials are stated on your quote for the team that will do your work; we do not publish generic accreditation claims here.
Guarantees, and who provides them
Two guarantees can apply, and they come from different people. The workmanship guarantee is written and provided by the installing company, with its length stated on the quote. The product guarantee is the manufacturer's and depends on the product being installed to its certified build-up — which is why we photograph the installation before it is covered. InsulationMatch does not itself issue guarantees.
