Why foil may suit some homes here
Upper-floor Tyneside flats own the roof but not much loft; rafter-level multifoil is a way to insulate without losing the space. Ground-floor Tyneside flats have no roof to insulate — the survey looks at walls and floors instead. A straightforward cold loft with good access is often more appropriately upgraded with conventional mineral-wool loft insulation than a rafter-level foil system, and we say so when it is.
